Hua Wei, vice chairman and secretary-general of the China Chemical Industry Society, Zhang Yongzhong, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Protection Bureau, and Zhu Xilin, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jinshan District People’s Congress attended the ceremony. Lei Huanli, President of Covestro China, was invited to give a keynote speech.

Representatives from the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Municipal Education Commission, the Municipal Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center, Jinshan District, Fengxian District, the Management Committee of the Chemical Industry Zone, the development company system, management units and park enterprises attended the finals and awards ceremony.

“This is an important part of the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park’s acceleration of the establishment of science and technology. It is a grand event in the process of building the Shanghai International Chemical New Material Innovation Center. It will also be a practical benchmark for promoting the green development and innovative development of the chemical park and petrochemical industry.” Director Ma Jing said in his speech that he also sent out a sincere invitation, “Welcome everyone to our park to carry out entrepreneurship and realize their dreams, and to add infinite vitality and impetus to the scientific establishment and innovative development of the chemical industry zone.”

In his speech, Vice President Fu Xiangsheng highly affirmed the fruitful results of this contest, and proposed, “I hope that the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park will regard the The 2019 “SCIP+” Green Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest as an important platform for the innovation and green development of the petrochemical industry, and as an innovative center for new chemical materials. Important support, focusing on the field of green chemistry and chemical engineering, discovering and training a group of passionate entrepreneurial teams and innovation leaders, creating space for high-level innovation teams, accelerating collaborative innovation and achieving win-win cooperation.”

“The purpose of this contest is to provide an open and fair competitive platform for young talents and innovative teams in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering, to create a practical opportunity for innovation and entrepreneurship, and to build a stage for displaying.” General Manager Zhang Chun said and wished the gold-competing teams have good results, high levels, and new styles in the contest. I wish all final teams a bridge of friendship and make friends with like-minded friends.

Vice President Xin Zhong once again interpreted the theme of the contest “Green Chemicals Innovate the Future.” He pointed out that “The contest has received enthusiastic responses from a total of 259 teams from universities, research institutes, and start-ups from 27 provinces and cities across the country. The French division also attracted many start-ups to register for the contest, which fully demonstrated everyone’s recognition of the concept of green development and innovative development. These two core keywords are of great significance to the future development of the chemical industry and the cultivation of high-level chemical talents.

This contest focuses on soliciting creative products and innovative services in the fields of new materials, new energy, environmental protection, smart manufacturing, process control, or entrepreneurial practices, highlighting greener synthesis paths and greener reaction conditions, greener chemical design concept.

Through multiple rounds of selection, including auditions, preliminary rounds, semi-finals and expert reviews, 53 teams emerged as the finalists. After the final selection on the morning of December 7th, SupergreenCO2, helping each other in the same boat, creating micro, smart detection guards, Huancheng (Shanghai) New Material Technology Development Co., Ltd., Shanghai Maximum Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Huiyixin Seven teams including Material Technology Co., Ltd. advanced to the final “gold-competing” phase.

In the afternoon, after an exciting and fierce competition, in the entrepreneurial innovation group, the SupergreenCO2 team won the first prize with the work “Development of a complete set of equipment for preparing large-size microporous polymer lightweight materials by supercritical CO2 molded foam”; Huancheng (Shanghai) New Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. in the entrepreneurial practice group aspires with the work of “Green Inorganic Optical Materials”. The other teams won the second prize, third prize and honorable prize.

In the crowded arena, the wonderful performance and professionalism of the participants, as well as many excellent innovations and insights, all impressed the judges and guests at the conference. They were deeply impressed by the innovative potential of green chemicals and the petrochemical industry. The future development is more confident, and I believe that they will become the backbone of China’s continuous green development and innovative development of the chemical industry in the future.

This competition has a special French competition division, which was promoted in the French Environment and Energy Management Agency and the Axelera industrial cluster, attracting many start-up teams to register for the competition. The work of the Minorga recommended by the French “Green Chemistry” Society won the first prize. Together with the top three teams in the entrepreneurial practice group, they will receive a one-week immersive business investigation and accelerate the incubation of potential projects.
