About IAP

SDGs Impact Acceleration Program (IAP) , initiated by Impact Hub Shanghai, Makeable, Fang Fund and Flame China, is an innovative platform for startups who bring positive impact to the world. This program, with angel investment, cross-border partners and in-depth mentoring, aims to support startups facing challenges of funding, business model and team building in their early stages.&nbsp

What is SDGs?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The SDGs, set in 2015 by 193 countries, are part of the 2030 Agenda to be achieved by the year 2030.

IAP intends to promote these 17 SDGs with our corporation partners, investment partners, and strategic partners by supporting startups with innovative solutions.

What is sustainable consumption?

The concept of "sustainable consumption" was first introduced at Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit in 1992. Its definition is

"The use of services and related products which respond to basic needs and bring a better quality of life while minimizing the use of natural resources and toxic materials as well as emissions of waste and pollutants over the life cycle of the service or product so as not to jeopardize the needs of future generations."

The situation is not getting better almost 30 years later. According to the United Nations, by the year 2050, we need almost three planetary resources to maintain our current standard of living. There is an urgent need for sustainable consumption.
