Born in June 1942 Shanghai, Wang Jiming graduated from petroleum refining major of East China College of Chemical Engineering (now East China University of Science and Technology) in September 1964. Wang is academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and expert in petroleum refining, petrochemical engineering and project management. Having worked as chairman and general manager of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company, vice president of Sinopec Group, and vice chairman and president of Sinopec Company, Wang is now senior member of Sinopec Science and Technology Department, special vice president of China Enterprise Confederation, president of China Business Council for Sustainable Development, and honorary president of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
In the petrochemical engineering practices, Wang came up with management concepts, approaches and models suitable for China. Wang also facilitated the cooperation and promotion of large cracking furnace and isolation techniques between China and foreign countries, organized key equipment domesticization, realized the first industrial application of domestic pyrolysis gas compressor, propylene and ethylene compressor, hydrogenation reactor etc., and pioneered domestic technique kit in large petrochemical projects.
QIAN Xuhong was born in 1962 and a native of Baoying County in East China’s Jiangsu Province. Qian is the 8th president of ECNU. He is a Changjiang Scholar – China’s highest academic award issued to an individual in higher education, chief scientist of the National Basic Research Priorities Program (also known as the 973 Program), an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), an adviser of the Department of Chemical Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation, a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry of the United Kingdom, chairman of the Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCCHE), and academic ambassador of AVH (meaning the Humboldt Foundation) of Germany.
Education & Work Experience
Qian received a bachelor’s degree at East China University of Chemical Technology, predecessor of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), in 1982 and a Ph. D. in engineering at the same university in 1988. He was an associate researcher with the Lamar University of the United States from 1989 to 1990 and an AVH postdoctor at the University of Würzburg from 1990 to 1991. He returned to China and started his career as a teacher at ECUST in 1992. Until 2000, he had been a lecturer, associate professor and professor, and took the posts as director of the Fine Chemical Department, head of the Pharmaceutical Chemical Institute, and president assistant. He acted as vice president of the university from 1996 to 2000. He was hired as Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor by Dalian University of Technology from 2000 to 2004. He was sworn in as president of ECUST in July 2004 and had been at the helm until March 2015. He was elected to be a CAE academician in 2011. He was a Shanghai lawmaker from 2007 to 2017. He resigned as ECUST president in April 2015 to focus on research before being transferred to take office as president and deputy Party chief of ECNU in January this year.
Academic Background
Qian has been specializing in eco-friendly pesticides and functional dyes research and application. He has successfully developed key green efficient preparation technologies, including polyfluoro aromatic acid — a core intermediate of floxacin, eco-friendly pesticides such as paramonitrite heterocyclic nicotine insecticides and perfluoroalkoxy plant health activators that create a new mechanism and possess a unique performance, as well as heterocyclic fluorescent dyes such as naphthalimide that realizes the integration of molecular recognition sensing and detection and separation. He also proposed and implemented concepts and methods of chemical biotechnology and engineering.
Qian’s honors include three first prizes of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, a first prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award, and a second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award for his role as first accomplisher of the award-winning projects. He held China patents for more than 20 inventions with him as the first and second inventor and 15 international patents granted by the United States, Japan and European countries. He has had 350-plus articles published with more than 8,000 citations. Ten of his representing articles recorded over 2,500 citations.
Wu Haijun, a professor-level senior engineer, graduated from East China Institute of Chemical Technology (which is now named as East China University of Science and Technology) in 1984 with major in chemical engineering. In 1997, he obtained the MBA degree from China Europe International Business School.
He is currently a member of the 13th Shanghai CPPCC, Chairman and Party Secretary of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd., also the Chairman of Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., and Director of Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co., Ltd. He is also the President of Shanghai Petroleum Association,and Chairman of the Presidium of Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations (SFEO ).
Liu Xunfeng was born in May 1965 in Hanshan, Anhui Province. He received his Bachelor and Master degree in chemical engineering from East China Institute of Chemical Technology (currently East China University of Science and Technology), EMBA degree from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and Ph.D. degree in management from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He also received the title of professor-level senior engineer.
Liu Xunfeng started his career as a technician at Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited in July 1989. Later on, he had successively held the posts of engineer and deputy chief engineer of aromatics plant, deputy chief engineer of ethylene plant, vice director of Investment and Engineering Department of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company, assistant general manager and deputy general manager of Shanghai Petrochemical Company.
Later on, he was appointed as board member and deputy general manager of Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Company Limited, and then board member and deputy general manager of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Development Company Limited. Thereafter, he was elected as chairman of board of Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Co., Ltd, and President and board member of Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company. Currently Dr. Liu Xunfeng is chairman of board of Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company, chairman of board of Shanghai Huayi Group Corporation Limited, vice chairman of board of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Development Company Limited. He also serves as president of Shanghai Society of Advanced Materials, vice chairman of the board of East China University of Science and Technology. He was honored as the 2nd session of Shanghai Municipal Industrial and Commercial Leader, 2018 Shanghai Outstanding Entrepreneur.

杨挺,教授级高级工程师,现任中国石油和化学工业联合会化工园区工作委员会秘书长,中国化工经济技术发展中心副主任。长期从事化工园区规划建设管理、石油化工产业规划,工程项目的前期咨询研究,工程项目的建设管理以及石油化工产品市场研究工作。曾牵头组织编制了《化工园区规范发展指导意见》、《绿色石化园区评价通则》、《中国化工园区综合评价指标体系》等多个国内化工园区纲领性文件。承担过国内多个世界级炼油乙烯项目、煤化工项目的前期规划、产品市场研究以及项目管理工作。
近年来,组织编制完成了50多个国家部委课题、百余项大型石化企业发展规划、化工园区总体发展规划、中外合资合作项目前期咨询规划以及近百种石油化工产品市场需求预测、生产技术发展动态研究等工作。作为主要起草人,牵头编制了国内第一项化工园区标准《化工园区公共管廊管理规程》等30余项国家标准的制修订工作。
杨为民,教授级高级工程师、博士生导师。1994年毕业于南京大学,获物理化学博士学位。之后在中国石化上海石油化工研究院从事绿色化工新材料和新工艺研发。1998-1999年在法国国家科学院催化研究所作访问学者。
现任中国石化上海石油化工研究院院长,绿色化工与工业催化国家重点实验室主任。中国化工学会会士。研究成果先后获得国家技术发明二等奖、国家科技进步二等奖、中国专利金奖、上海市科技进步一等奖等奖项。并获得第二届全国创新争先奖、何梁何利创新奖、侯德榜化工科学技术成就奖等荣誉。发表学术论文160篇,以第一发明人,获授权中国发明专利53件,美国等国外发明专利21件。
张淳先生自2015年起正式担任上海化学工业区发展有限公司总经理,负责公司的日常经营管理。2003年起参与上海化工区的开发建设,担任上海化学工业区发展有限公司副总经理,负责园区工程建设、招商引资及经营管理等工作。
在加入上海化工区之前,张淳先生长期在中国石化上海高桥公司任职,曾任总工程师、副总经理。张淳先生于1986年毕业于华东理工大学化学工程系,获得硕士学位,2001年获得工学博士学位。张淳先生同时兼任华东理工大学董事会成员之职。

Ms. Ximin Huang has owned rich professional experience in water and environment fields. Her career in SUEZ began in 2008 where she held management positions in different functions. Holly Lei has taken over as President of Covestro China based in Shanghai, effective July 1, 2019. With more than 20 years of experience in cross-cultural management around the world, Lei is the first local female leader for this position.
With a strong technical background in chemical engineering and material science, Lei started her career at Bayer MaterialScience (the predecessor company of Covestro) in 1999 as a technical representative, and has since held various management positions of increasing responsibilities focusing on sales, technical service and R&D in Greater China and the APAC region. As a seasoned leader strong at managing dispersed teams, she devoted her cross-industry insights and customer centric mindset to develop focus industries for Covestro’s Business Unit Polycarbonates in Greater China and the APAC region.
In her role as Global Head of Electrical, Electronics & Appliances (EE&A), BU Polycarbonates, Lei helped Covestro strengthen its industrial leadership by enhancing the global CMF (Color, Materials and Finishing) capabilities, transforming Covestro from a material supplier to an innovation partner.
Apart from her business success, Lei is also an affectionate people leader and excels at fostering an environment that allows people to flourish and develop to their fullest potential. As an avid ambassador of diversity and inclusion, she is actively involved in promoting equality in the workplace in Covestro Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Council.
Lei holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Dalian University of Technology in China and a master’s degree in material science from Université de Sherbrooke in Canada. She has also received executive training at INSEAD Business School in France. Lei is married with a grown-up son.

Prof. Chen is the director of Engineering research center of technical textile, ministry of educatio; Director of Expert Technical Committee of China Knitting Industry Association; Vice-Chairman of Expert Committee of China Industrial Textile Industry Association; Vice-Chairman of China Industrial Textile Association; Vice-Chairman of China Knitting Industry Association; Member of Academic Committee of China Textile Engineering Association.

Many achievements as key technical materials and key technical products have been successfully applied to some spacecraft of Tiangong-1, Tiangong-2, Tianzhou-1, Beidou Navigation Satellite and Tiantong-1 Satellite. The developed biomedical textiles have reached the international advanced level, and some project achievements have been put into clinical application. Chengchang Ji, male, born in 1964, Doctor of engineering, Professor, Doctoral supervisor. Scott Zhang was appointed President of Honeywell China on Nov. 1, 2019. He will be responsible for executing Honeywell’s business objectives in the company’s single largest country market outside the U.S.
In the past four year, as President of Honeywell Technology Solutions (HTS), he has been leading the 7,000-people engineering, technology research and development (RD&E) resources of Honeywell across its centers in India, China, Mexico and the Czech Republic to support the company growth, especially in high growth regions (HGRs).
Scott is responsible for building the structure and strategy to grow HTS, leveraging the organization’s scale, footprint and software depth to create a unique and innovative portfolio that includes new product development, software as a service, and engineering solutions to enable Honeywell’s breakthrough growth and meet the needs of its global base.
Before his current role, Scott served as Vice President and General Manager of Asia for Honeywell’s Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) group, where he tripled the revenue and expanded the Asia businesses with an R&D center, 10 production facilities (including four joint ventures) and 19 commercial offices.
Prior to that, Scott worked for Honeywell UOP for 18 years, where he gained extensive experience in research, technology, commercial and new business development. As the chief representative of UOP in China, he maintained UOP’s status as a preferred vendor and trusted partner for key Chinese refiners, while expanded the business to the private sector. He introduced new Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) and OleflexTM propylene dehydrogenation technologies to China to address feedstock challenges and meet the growing demand for light olefins.
Scott graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a master’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He also earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg – HKUST Executive MBA program. Scott is the author of several US patents, technical papers and presentations.
Currently, Mr. Gong is Chairman of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Research & Development Co., Ltd and Manager of Asia Pacific Research & Operations.
Mr. Gong graduated as Ph.D, (Doctor), Chemistry at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA in 1997. He earned two-year Post- Doctor Research Fellow at University of California at Berkeley, USA from 1998 to 2000. In 2004, he graduated with Master of Business Administration from Rice University, USA.
Mr. Gong joined ExxonMobil as Research Scientist in 2000 and has had various roles in Technology, Planning and Marketing in Northen America. From 2007 to 2009, he was assigned to China as Asia Pacific Polyolefin Product Technology Manager, Shanghai Technology Center Project Executive, leading the team in building Shanghai Technology Center. In Sept 2009, Mr. Gong returned to ExxonMobil USA as Global Technology Planning Manager, leading a team in developing chemical technology strategy and managing technology budget and major projects. After that, he was assigned for developing new product strategy, designing a new organization for new business growth, and then led a global product research and development organization.
In June 2019, Mr. Gong was appointed his current position as Chairman of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Research & Development Co., Ltd., based in Shanghai. In this role, he is leading all research & development activities in the region and managing the operation of Shanghai Technology Center and Banglore R&D Technology Center.
Dr.Hu Dongqi started his theoretical physics study at the University of Science & Technology of China in 1978 and awarded by the Chinese National Ministry of Education for study in Germany in 1980.
He received his undergraduate and PhD in Chemistry from the University Heidelberg in 1990 and awarded with postdoc fellowship of the German Research Foundation (DFG) in Stanford University USA in 1991/1992.
He joined Bayer in 1993 and held different positions in R&D, Marketing and Production. In 1997, he was transferred to Wuxi to start a green- field plant- Bayer (Wuxi) Leather Chemical Co., Ltd.
From 2003 to April of 2019, he was the General Manager of the LANXESS (Wuxi) High Performance Composite Materials Co.,Ltd. In 2010, he took over the position as the Managing Director of LANXESS (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. In 2013, Dongqi Hu was appointed Director of Innovation & Technology, LANXESS Greater China in addition to his roles in Changzhou and Wuxi.
Dr.Hu Dongqi now is the Managing Director of LANXESS (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. and Director of Innovation & Technology, LANXESS Greater China.
Ray Wang graduated with a Ph.D degree in Materials Science from Virginia Tech in United States. Dr. Wang has worked in both National Energy Technology Laboratory and multi-national corporations. Dr. Wang has a wide range of research interests from physical chemistry to industrial manufacturing, especially in chemical and energy technologies. In the past 10 years, Dr. Wang did research including clean coal technologies, natural gas hydrate, enhanced oil recovery and shale gas recovery. Dr. Wang has experience from technology development to commercialization. Ray was invited to give trainings at energy workshops jointly held by US Trade and Development Agency and National Energy Administrative of China. Dr. Ray Wang has much experience in managing overseas / cross-culture joint venture company. Ray is currently the business development manager for Asia for Sasol Co. Ltd., focusing on joint venture creation, M&A and new business development in Asia.
In 2016 Dr. Ray Wang was awarded ‘Future Leader of the year – US/China Business Exchange Award’ by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Dr. Wang has also been a guest instructor for Peking University Business School. He is a board member of the ‘Edgar Snow Memorial Foundation’ in United States, dedicated for the exchange of culture, economy and education between US and China. In 2017 Ray received the “Rising Star” award by UK’s Reed Business Information ICIS.
After graduated from Tongji University with a master’s degree in Chemistry in 1997, he joined Huntsman Polyurethanes division and started his career with various Commercial functions including Account Manager, Business Development Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, Commercial Manager etc. He was promoted to Commercial Director in 2010 and became a member of APAC leadership team. In 2013, he was appointed Senior Commercial Director, China General Manager, and also Managing Director of Shanghai Huntsman Polyurethanes, a JV between Huntsman and Shanghai Chlor-Alkali. In 2018, he was promoted to Vice President APAC Region of Advanced Materials Division. Lane also holds an Executive MBA degree from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.
Zhiming Huang is the Vice President, Business Development of Honeywell China. In this role, Zhiming will drive Honeywell business growth in China, promoting advanced process technology, smart manufacturing solution, safety and environmental technology, and IIOT solutions in new refining and petrochemical project development in China, managing China key corporate strategic accounts and EPC relationships in and emanating from China, and other new opportunity development with major domestic and international companies. He also will support broader business growth initiatives in Honeywell High Growth Region.
Zhiming joined Honeywell in 2011 as UOP Regional General Manager. Previously he was with Triastoria Group where he served as Executive Vice President. Prior to that, he worked in Aspen Technology as senior R&D director, and Greater China Country Manager. Zhiming holds a Bachelor’s degree of Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology. He also holds a Master’s degree and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Born on January 10th, 1964 in Hunan province, Yun Chen studied chemical engineering at the Beijing Institute of Technology and afterwards at the East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai followed by a PhD study in organic chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany).
He entered Covestro (Bayer at that time) in 1994 as Lab Manager in Germany and in 1999 became deputy plant manager of Polycarbonates (PCS). In 2001 he was transferred to Shanghai to become plant manager of Polycarbonates BPA/SPC train and in 2008 he became Head of P&T Polycarbonates at Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai. In January 2014, he became the member of BTS Management Committee and Head of BTS Asia.
On January 1st, 2017, Dr. Yun Chen is appointed as the Head of Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai.
Dr. Chen is married and has 2 children.
Dr. Jinqiu Chen, senior Vice President of Operations & Site Management, Greater China Region, is the General Manager of Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, and the Site Manager of Evonik Multi-User-Site-China. He is also responsible for ESHQ, Energy and Logistics departments in Greater China Region.
Dr. Jinqiu Chen joined Hüls AG in Marl (one of the predecessors of Evonik Industries AG) as R&D Manager of Latices in 1994. Then he took several management positions in PolymerLatex GmbH. In November 2008, Dr. Jinqiu Chen went back to China as Deputy Operation Director of MATCH Project, Evonik Degussa Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. And then took the position of General Manager and the site manager of Evonik Multi-User-Site-China since March 2010. From January 2020, he also took the position of senior Vice President of Operations & Site Management, Greater China Region.
Dr. Jinqiu Chen studied at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Jiangnan University and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica. After getting the scholarship from Ministry of Education, he went to Germany for further study in 1988 and later obtained PhD at Dortmund University.
During Dr. Jinqiu Chen’s working in Shanghai, Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd was awarded twice “China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Responsible Care Best Practice Corporation Award” and “SCIP Safety Production Advanced Unit” for many years. He was also awarded “Director Award” in SCIP for many times.
In 2012, Dr. Jinqiu Chen was awarded “The Magnolia Silver Award”. In 2017, he was awarded “The Magnolia Gold Award”.
Javier Nieto has joined Cepsa in 2005 after having worked for companies like Mobil Oil and Brunel. During his 16 years of experience in Cepsa he has held major commercial and business roles managing Cumene, Phenol, Acetone and Cyclohexane business as well as Supply Chain roles managing Cepsa’s chemical storage terminal, LBC-CEPSA TANK TERMINALS.
Before joining Cepsa Chemical Shanghai, Javier was the General Manager of Cepsa Quimica Netherlands and responsible for the purchase, sales, storage and transportation of 1,500,000 mt of chemicals worldwide.
Javier has lived in different continents and has a broad international experience.
He graduated from East China University of Science and Technology in February 2008 with a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the National Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering CNRS UMR 5223 (Ingénierie des Matériaux Polymères) in France. Since November 2010, he has worked in Red Avenue New Materials Group Co., Ltd., serving as senior R&D engineer, deputy director of R&D and vice president successively.
He has more than 15 years of polymer material research and development experience, mainly focusing on the synthesis and application of phenolic resins for tires and degradable materials and has more than 10 related patents. In 2016, as the main participant, he won the first prize of the 2016 China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation Science and Technology Progress Award with the project “Key Technologies for Industrialization of Functional Resins for Ten Thousand-Tier Tire Industry”
Frank CHEN – Wan Suo, born in Taizhou city, Jiangsu Province on Jun-24, 1976 and graduated from Zhejiang University with Ph. Degree of Chemical Engineering and Technology in 2005, majored in asymmetric organic synthesis, have published lots of papers in the advanced chemistry journals as well as patents granted. After the graduation, Frank joined IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) as process engineer focused on R&D and product transfer, and in 2007 joined BACC (BASF Advanced Chemicals) as plant manager. Since then, Frank internally transferred to BCCS (BASF Care Chemical), BTW (BASF Taiwan) and BACH (BASF Chemicals) as senior cluster manager, operation head and so on. Frank is familiar with the manufacturing and technology of flavors ingredients, pigment, dyestuff, surfactant, synthetic lubricant, UV-filter and resin etc.
Erning Cao studied Economics in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics with a master degree on business administration and Chinese CPA qualification.
After graduation in 1995 he worked in various finance, business administration functions for Alstom and Siemens in China and Singapore, including as CFO for Siemens JV businesses in China.
Erning Cao joined Evonik in 2008 as Regional Controller for Greater China. Thereafter he took responsibilities as Asia Controller for Business Unit, Global Controller for Business Lines in Germany.
Since early 2018 Erning joined Evonik Venture Capital team as investment director for Asia.
Li is responsible for investment for BASF Ventures in China. Li started her career with PwC. She then managed corporate strategy and M&A department for Voith China. Li used to work for SABIC Ventures. She graduated from Fudan University with an Economics major.
Edward has more than 23 years experience in providing professional services to those listed companies, state-owned enterprises, multinational companies and private-owned companies. Edward has deep knowledge of accounting regulations and relevant regulatory requirements, including IFRS, PRC Accounting Standards and Hong Kong Listing Rules. Edward has extensive experience in providing IPO and annual audit service and is also experienced in group restructuring, due deligence and M&A.
